Thought For The Day: Let's Get Back To Family

7 Tell all this to everyone, so they will do the right thing. 8 People who don't take care of their relatives, and especially their own families, have given up their faith. They are worse than someone who doesn't have faith in the Lord.
-1 Timothy 5:7-8

I don't think I need to write much in regards to how times have grown increasingly harder economically in these present days. For decades now, culture in the West has prided itself in independence of family. That mindset is rapidly crumbling in these troubling times.

For quite some time now I've been saying, family needs to learn to love each other again. We need to learn to live with one another, build together, and take care of each other. If we remain "islands", most of us will eventually sink.

It's time to get back to family. We need to learn to lean on each other and build together. Many are struggling for a slice of bread simply due to their pride.

What if I told you that life in the West is a self-centered lie, wrapped up in what has been labeled, "The American Dream"? For decades we've been indoctrinated to go off and get an education, start our own households, and "live our best lives." All the while our parents were left in the dust to struggle in their older years.

Don't fall for the selfish ideologies of modern American culture. Only an evil society would encourage you to cast away your parents in order to "live your best life." Let's get back to family; let's get back to Christ.
