Thought For The Day: Tell Others What The Lord Has Done For You

1 Praise the Lord
and pray in his name!
Tell everyone
what he has done.
2 Sing praises to the Lord!
Tell about his miracles.
3 Celebrate and worship
his holy name
with all your heart.
-Psalm 105:1-3

What better way to share the gospel of Christ with others than praising Him for all that He has done for you. Were you struggling with sin when He pulled you from the pit of darkness and set your feet upon a rock? Was your body and mind riddled with anxiety when His steady hand applied peace to your mind and soul?

Don't keep quiet about the trials you endure when Jesus breaks the chains. Your life experiences and how Jesus set you free from your troubles will transform more lives than simply quoting Bible verses. But often times we remain silent. Why is that?

This isn't going to sit well with some people but I'm not going to beat around the bush. I believe it has much to do with pride, and I am guilty of this one as well.

You see, to share one's testimony, you have to let go of your pride and ego. By sharing your testimony, you are admitting that you are not perfect and were in need of rescuing. This takes humbling yourself and even subjecting yourself to judgment from others.

Rest assured, you are in good company! The Bible is packed with flawed and broken people that the Lord used to carry out His work.

This next line is going to be a very hard pill to swallow. You are of no use to the Lord if you haven't completely surrendered to Him and free yourself of the opinions and judgment of others.

Now before you get discouraged and lose all hope, know that you do not do this all in your own power! Ask the Lord to give you the courage and strength. Ask Him for humility and for Him to use you for His will. Pray to the Lord that He will take away your foolish desires that you may find life by walking with Him. (Psalm 119:37)
