How Dare God NOT Punish Them?!

So he prayed: Our LORD, I knew from the very beginning that you wouldn’t destroy Nineveh. That’s why I left my own country and headed for Spain. You are a kind and merciful God, and you are very patient. You always show love, and you don’t like to punish anyone, not even foreigners.
Jonah 4:2

We can all learn a valuable lesson from the book of Jonah. If you have never read it, go check it out, it’s only 4 chapters in length. Sometimes we get impatient with the Lord and how He handles justice because we “feel” certain people should be punished, and when they aren’t we get frustrated and sometimes angry.This is why it is so important to seek the Wisdom of God in prayer. Ask the Lord for His Wisdom and His compassion. The Lord doesn’t want anyone to perish, but for all to have eternal life, and we should want the same things for humanity.

Ask Jesus for a heart of compassion. Pray for those who hate or dislike you, or mistreat you. Pray for those who are lost. Pray that you care more about their eternal destination than your own hurt feelings.
